KENOPHOBIA
Contemporary Dance Performance by Fibre Performing Arts November 2018 | Larnaca | Part of Larnaca Biennale 2018 CONCEPT Voids...They exist, they vanish; they grow, they are filled up and then unfilled again. You need their existence... You seek out for them but yet you avoid them. You love them but yet you hate them. Voids; they exist, they vanish. You fear them but yet you need them... A site specific promenade performance expressed through contemporary dance and kinesiology influenced by the concept of Horror Vacui. In visual art, horror vacui (from Latin “fear of empty space”) is the filling of an entire surface of a space or an artwork with detail. Are all forms of emptiness made consciously? Do people really comprehend the value of a clear space? And are there other forms of emptiness that people will always tend to fear and fill up? |
